When Alpina Shipping Agencies ApS, Denmark was established in 1984 its primary purpose was to provide chartering services to the shipping industry. We were soon thereafter appointed exclusive chartering agents for a few dry cargo ships which improved to a fleet of a dozen ships upto 120.000 dwt. This gave us the opportunity of discovering at first hand the pressures and responsibilities of running a shipping fleet. We believe that there are three basic but essential elements necessary for success: cost-effectiveness, efficiency and foresight. These considerations are ever present in our policy and decision-making process.

Alpina Shipping Agencies ApS is not just another Ship Broker, but our activities go beyond that to offer full representation and protection of our principals' interests, close follow up prior and after the conclusion of a fixture, we assist with C/P interpretations, laytime calculations and resolution of eventual disputes. With other words: Full Service. We were in 1986 appointed exclusive brokers by Ideal Shipping Ltd and in 1988 by the Tomini Group to cover their tonnage requirements and handle the commercial and financial management of their chartered and owned vessels.

Alpina Ship Management ApS was established to provide commercial ship management services to the smaller owner/investor who requires a bespoke service with high level of personal contact. We are not engaged in technical- or crew management but we have an extensive network of contacts in all markets which enables us to work vessels profittably and allows us to expedite vessels very efficiently and thus keep the operating costs at a minimum.

Tomini Shipping Company Ltd controls a fleet of dry cargo vessels trading, some are trading in the open markets and others are carrying steel scraps cargoes for Tomini Trading SRL from Constanta to worldwide destinations. The company is also engaged in trading, storage and distribution of refined oil products and Alpina Shipping handles the shipping activities.

Our activities are not confined to commercial ship management. We are also the exclusive brokers for a number of Charterers and are actively engaged in competitive chartering. These activities  include worldwide parcel cross-bookings and transportation of special parcels, such as reefer, project-, heavylift, roro- as well as delicate, imflammable, dangerous IMO classified cargoes and offshore towage.
